It's Week 1. The entire season could depend on how your team performs. Will you start off strong? Or stumble out of the gates? Let's take a look at the matchups and get a feel for the games playing in Week 1.
100% That Commish vs Team Pup-N-Suds
It's a battle of the quarterbacks in this Week 1 matchup. Team Pup-N-Suds starts the dynamic Lamar Jackson and the always consistent Russell Wilson, while 100% That Commish rolls with the reigning Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and the sophomore sensation Jalen Hurts. 100% That Commish also sends out a pair of top 10 wide receivers in Davante Adams and Chris Godwin, while Team Pup-N-Suds will start a couple of dynamic young players in Jerry Jeudy and Chase Claypool, with the game-changing rookie Kyle Pitts at tight end.
Doc Browns Toilet Bowl vs DINKEL 3.16
We get it, you're a Chiefs fan. Doc Browns Toilet Bowl is starting players from the Super Bowl runner ups in four slots, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and wide receiver Mecole Hardman. On the opposite sideline, DINKEL 3.16 offers up a more diverse roster, with the second quarterback drafted in Josh Allen leading a line up that includes top 10 wideout Calvin Ridley and rookie sensation running back Najee Harris. In a weird twist, both teams start the defense that complements their quarterbacks, with Doc Browns Toilet Bowl and DINKEL 3.16 starting the Kansas City and Buffalo defenses, respectively.
Autodraft Bitches vs Ginger Lightning
Tell me you autodrafted without telling me you autodrafted. First sign - your starting and only quarterback isn't even guaranteed to see the field in Week 1. Autodraft Bitches better hope that the 49ers really do plan on rolling with a two quarterback system so that he can get some points from Trey Lance in Week 1. At least he has a dynamic running back duo in Alvin Kamara and Nick Chubb to fall back on. He'll need all the help he can get against the reigning Shock & Awe champion Ginger Lightning, who boasts two top 8 quarterbacks in Dak Prescott and Kyler Murray, along with one of the best wide receivers in the league in DeAndre Hopkins. The Cardinals stack that Ginger Lightning drafted could prove too much to overcome for Autodraft Bitches.
Captain Morgan vs SMILF
SMILF comes in to their first season in Shock & Awe with a starting lineup that features a mix of proven veterans, led by the number one overall pick, quarterback Trevor Lawrence. A duo of standout Vikings players in wide receiver Justin Jefferson and running back Dalvin Cook should lead a strong corps that also includes top tight end Travis Kelce. To welcome SMILF in to the league, Shock & Awe founding member Captain Morgan threatens to derail the season before it gets started. A strong pair of wide receivers in Tyreek Hill and Allen Robinson, complimented with a top 10 running back in Jonathan Taylor and a veteran quarterback in Matt Ryan is the start of a group that Captain Morgan hopes can take them far this season.
Houston Dinkel vs Leknid Lunatics
It's a battle of sophomore quarterbacks to start out this matchup. Joe Burrow was on his way to a rookie of the year title until his injury. Meanwhile, Justin Herbert was right behind him and did end up earning the title at the end of the season. Now, Houston Dinkel has to hope that Burrow has recovered from injury and is ready to lead this team. Also rostering top running back Christian McCaffrey and a pair of Seahawks wideouts in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Houston Dinkel has his eyes on beating Leknid Lunatics. Leknid Lunatics will have to hope that Justin Herbert keeps up pace from his rookie campaign and leads the team to victory. Leknid Lunatics also features a strong running back duo in Ezekiel Elliott and Saquan Barkely to help anchor the roster.
The Dictatorship vs Keeping Up with the Jones'
In another case of autodraft backfiring, The Dictatorship is also rolling with a rookie quarterback who isn't even scheduled to take the field this week. While Justin Fields may end up being a good pick down the road, The Dictatorship better hope that wide receiver duo Stefon Diggs and AJ Brown, paired with starting running backs Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs will be enough. Meanwhile, Keeping Up with the Jones' look to have the upper hand going in to Week 1, with a pair of Packers in reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and quarterback and flashy running back Aaron Jones. Include the show stopping wide receiver Terry McLaurin and a newly traded Matt Stafford to the starting roster, and Keeping Up with the Jones' could be in for smooth sailing in Week 1.
