Welcome to the 2022 season of Shock and Awe Fantasy Football League!
As we enter a new season, some things change, but some stay the same. We have upped our league from 12 teams to 14 teams. We welcome back the now name All 2 Whales, and we welcome in STL House Centipedes.
As with last year, we'll structure our season based on the NFL schedule of 18 weeks. We’ll once again be playing a 14 week regular season. Playoffs will run Weeks 15 thru Week 17. This seemed the most fair, as we avoid a Week 14 playoff game where there are NFL teams on bye.
With fourteen teams, it was hard to find the right balance for divisions. In a break from previous years, we are doing away with divisions entirely. This will be a 13 week round robin, with the fourteenth week being a rivalry week once again, playing against your designated rival. Some rivalries have changed, some have stayed the same. Be sure to check the schedule once posted in order to see your rival and prepare smack talk. Playoffs will be based on the top 6 teams in the league, instead of based on top seeding in divisions.
As a reminder, there is a $20 buy-in for the league. With a larger pot this year do to the expanded league size, payouts will be a little different. As we’ve done in the past, we’ll keep a weekly payout for different challenges. Those challenges will be posted on the message boards, and on the website. Instead of division winners, there will now be a higher payout for the Thanksgiving Day DFS challenge, and there will be a higher payout for 1st and 2nd place, plus a 3rd place payout. 3rd place will get their buy-in back, 2nd place will now get $50, and league winner will receive $120.
Scoring hasn’t changed. Roster positions will remain the same, with a super flex QB/WR/RB/TE slot, and no kicker in the league. We will have one IR spot available. Make sure you double check the scoring settings if you haven't already, so you're familiar with roster, scoring, etc.
If you ever have questions, please let me know. Between the league page, the website, and the group chat, I think everything should be communicated pretty well.
Have a great 2022 season everyone!
